TVM has been associated with several harmful problems, to include accounts of infection, pain, urinary problems and bowel, bladder or blood-vessel perforations. Women have also described continued prolapse, in addition to erosion, creating the need for additional surgery to attempt to remove the surgical mesh which eroded in to the vaginal area.
